Hunt’s Food Group, the South’s leading independent food wholesaler and manufacturer has purchased the trading entity of The Health Store (THS).
The Nottingham-based company went into administration on Monday 22nd August and Hunt’s agreed to buy the trading entity from the administrators on 31st August 2022. The Health Food Store was one of the UK’s leading health food distributors and provided a one-stop shop for the independent health food industry.

Hunt’s Food Group plan to continue distributing out of the Nottingham site offering a range consisting of VMS, THS Pre-pack, other non-food sku’s and bulk commodity lines. Branded ambient, chilled and frozen food products will be distributed via Queenswood Natural Foods, the dedicated health food distribution arm of the Hunt’s Food Group based in Bridgwater. Keeping true to their team first value, Hunt’s Food Group has also taken on the employment of several members of THS team at Nottingham to help with the operation of the depot and assist with its growth.
Thomas Hunt, Managing Director of Hunt’s Food Group comments: “We are delighted to progress with this opportunity and welcome The Health Store to the group. We look forward to working with the new team members from The Health Store and learning from their wealth of knowledge in the industry.
This investment from the group brings greater choice to our customers and complements our commitment to having the most competitive, comprehensive range available. We have exciting plans for the brand and are looking forward to developing these in the future.”
I recently came across Argentinian salad recipes that are perfect for healthy meals. They pair so well with a variety of foods, and it’s something I’ve been enjoying a lot. This new venture by Hunt’s sounds promising, too!
Expanding access to health-focused products is a positive step toward improving well-being for many individuals, especially older adults who require specialized care. Nutrition and wellness play a crucial role in maintaining quality of life, particularly for those in hospice care. A social worker in hospice can help families navigate the complexities of end-of-life care while also providing guidance on essential health needs. Ensuring access to quality products and compassionate support makes a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly patients.
Hunt’s purchase of The Health Store marks an exciting expansion into a market that values wellness and quality. This shift towards prioritizing health can inspire others to make their well-being a priority too. For those struggling with alcohol addiction treatment, finding a trusted source of support and care is equally important. A holistic approach to health-whether through nutrition, therapy, or recovery programs-can set the foundation for lasting positive change.
