Hunt's have appointed two new directors to its senior team; Phil Hopkins (Transport Director) and Richard Flack (Warehouse Director). Similarly to the entire senior team at Hunt's, both have worked their way up in the business and live by the company values.
Phil started on the evening shift as a shunter, moving vehicles around the yard and supporting the loading team. Phil went through the Hunt's Drivers Academy to gain his HGV licence and then became Assistant Logistics Manager supporting the Hunt's longstanding Transport Manager of 29 years Pete Hancock.
When Pete retired Phil completed his CPC holder exam through the Drivers Academy and went on to run the Stalbridge site, before returning to Sherborne and oversee the drivers and fleet at this depot. Phil took over as Group Transport Manager in 2016 before being promoted to his new role. Phil is responsible for the Transport team and fleet across the group and has been with Hunt's Food Group for 12 years.
Richard started at Hunt's 5 years ago as a stock controller after coming from a retail background. Richard was a quick learner and got promoted to Stock Manager. He then became Assistant Manager on the AM Shift which is responsible for Goods In, Stock Checks, Replenishment and Cleaning for the Group. Richard took over the morning shift in 2019 before becoming Warehouse Manager in June 2020. Richard is responsible for the groups warehouse activity at Sherborne, Bridgwater, Stalbridge and Hazelbury Bryan in addition to looking after all the MHE and racking.
