TRAVELLING TO THE BORDER TO HELP THOSE AFFECTED BY THE UKRAINE CRISIS

On Sunday the 27th of March, 4 of our drivers, Keith, Kev, Marick, and Stirling, left from Hunt's Depot in Sherbourne to embark on a trip to the Polish border carrying essential supplies to help those that are affected by the Ukraine crisis.

When Keith and Stirling came across a post on Facebook by 'Help The Ukraine' - a charitable organisation based in Taunton, looking for volunteers and donations. They thought it was such a great cause and wanted to do what they could to help. So, after talking to fellow drivers Kev and Marick, they then reached out to Hunt's senior team, who were more than happy to provide them with all the resources required to make this trip.

Kieth, Kev, Marick and Sterling left the Hunt's Food Group Depot at 9 pm on Sunday in two lorries carrying essential supplies, ranging from toiletries and nappies to crutches and sleeping bags and are heading to the Polish border. Each of the lorries will have two drivers, who will take turn's driving to ensure the essential suppliers are delivered as quickly as possible! They will arrive back at the Hunt's Depot early Friday morning.

We are so proud of our 4 drivers who have taken such great initiative and have committed their time to organise and take this trip and wish them the best of luck on their travels!

We will be following our drivers throughout the journey to the Polish border and will post regular updates on our Twitter (@Hunts_). Please show your support and join them on this journey.

'Help The Ukraine' is a charity started by Dominika Chwiejczak and Irina Nagornaya that wanted to do their part to help the people affected by the Ukraine crisis. Their aim is to collect donations of the most needed items and send them to Poland, from where they are distributed to places and people in need. If you wish to help this great cause, please head over to their Facebook page for more information on how you can get involved.
